Anyway, it was getting late on the 2nd night of driving, my ex and the kids were all sound asleep, and no matter what music I put on it was having trouble keeping me awake.

So, I decided to stop at a hotel in Tucumcari, New Mexico. A little town built mainly of hotels and fast food restaurants catering to the Interstate traffic. The hotel was adequate, but my son found a brochure for a Dinosaur Museum that he had to visit the next morning. After touring the museum, we asked a woman that we purchased souvenirs from a good ("quaint", as my ex put it) place to eat in Tucumcari.

She pointed us to a place called "Del's Restaurant". We found it, a authentic Route 66 restaurant, with a big bull perched in front of the restaurant. Needless to say, the place was straight out of the 60's, with insanely great food. The best part of the meal for me though was the chips and salsa they put on the table (but only if your ordered a mexican meal.) It was a little warm, great consistancy, and you could just keep eating it... and eating it.. my bowl of chips was gone really quick. Even my 10 yr old son loved it.. and he eats Taco Bell mild sauce.

After our meal I found out they bottle and sell the salsa, and even more surprising, it had a sticker on the bottle that it had won a Scovie! I wasn't shocked because it was so good, but was surpirised that it won in the hot bottled category. Anyway, I hope to sell it soon, but I'll definitely list it as a medium...

So look for Del's Salsa soon!
